Switzerland, Nicaragua, France, Mexico, and the US. In the past decade, I’ve called each of these countries home. Scattered throughout, I’ve traveled from Australia to Costa Rica, Morocco to Sweden. And along the way, I’ve had amazing – scratch that, unreal – food experiences. Around the world, inspired foodies are pioneering cutting-edge concepts in food and art and wine and everything that goes along with it. Having tasted some of this myself, I wanted to share the work of these industry dynamos that are changing the face of cuisine today. And thus, The Urban Grocer was born.
Since its launch over a year ago, the online community has been incredibly embracing of The Urban Grocer. So it was decided to spread the love and take the idea to another form of media: television. Luckily, some amazing folks agreed and it is therefore with utmost excitement that I am proud to announce the The Urban Grocer on the Cooking Channel!
Yup, that’s right. Throughout October, The Urban Grocer television show will be airing on the always-fabulous Cooking Channel. And just like the website, The Urban Grocer will feature innovative, cutting-edge foodstuffs from around the world, starting with Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Join me as I dive in to uncover everything from contemporary takes on old-school Argentine eats, to a slow-food loving chef inspired by indigenous ingredients, to a knock-your-socks-off open BBQ spot in Uruguay that boasts graffiti, a hipster, and some smokey, grilled masterpieces. In between, I shake-up a few cocktails, have a way too boozy wine and food pairing, and go for some sweet helado with a fellow contributor.
For air times throughout October, visit the Cooking Channel. Set your DVR to record series & help spread the good word! Next Malbec, on us.
