Drool: Cioccolato, Mexico

Submitted by on June 27, 2012 – 4:37 pmNo Comment

Stark white sweet shops with a splash of color are trending in Mexico. First, there was the launch of the stunning patisserie, Theurel & Thomas, in Neuvo Leon. Now, there’s competition out of Monterrey. Enter Cioccolato. Against a backdrop of snow-white furnishings and walls, boldly colored cupcakes, poppy macarons, bright marshmallows, and dazzling sweets are proudly presented in glass jars and cake plates. A magenta-dyed drip oozes down a table, chocolate saturates a counter corner, and framed photos of whisks and cookies line the walls. Designed by local studio Savvy, Cioccolato is definitely a shop that seduces. Though we haven’t yet devoured the sweets inside, we’re definitely drooling from the window.
