Ice, Ice Baby

The humble ice cube tray. You might not think that little block of plastic sitting in your freezer leaves much room for innovation, but think again. The designers over at Fred and Friends have been having a field day with it, dreaming up all sorts of funky variations to the traditional cube. Check out Ice Invaders – a tray that creates alien-shaped chunks of ice inspired by the classic video game. There’s also Brain Freeze, “the ice tray that makes four frosty brains.” If you’re feeling girly, freeze yourself some Cool Jewels to chill down your pink lemonade on a summer afternoon. That plain old rectangular ice cube? Forget it — this is a cubin’ revolution.
