The Perfect Cappuccino, Now On the Big Screen

Submitted by on June 2, 2010 – 9:42 amOne Comment

The perfect cappuccino“I have a problem,” admits filmmaker Amy Ferraris. “I’m obsessed with the cappuccino.” And so Ferraris explains the motivation for her film – The Perfect Cappuccino – a 90-minute exploration of the history, science and popular explosion of the velvety coffee beverage. Ferraris goes from Italy to America, from tiny roasteries to Starbucks stores in an attempt to find that perfect cup of joe, and – more importantly – to distill the secrets behind cappuccino perfection. In an analytical turn, the film also looks at how Starbucks has brought a mass-market version of the frothy beverage to new corners of American suburbia. Is this a good thing? Ferraris asks. Watch, and decide for yourself.
