Books for Cooks: La Cocotte

Submitted by Erin Carlman Weber on May 20, 2010 – 6:02 pm2 Comments

la cocotteLa Cocotte is the perfect venue for a tea party, with its cozy table, tiny pastries and pink toile wallpaper. But it’s also the place to come for an international and ambitious selection of books covering nearly every aspect of food and beverage, from cookbooks to chef’s memoirs to the graphic identities of restaurants. Kitchen gadgets, sweet treats and printed linens share shelf space with cuisine-focused city guides, reference tomes and collections of good-enough-to-eat food illustrations. The bookstore stocks a worthwhile selection of English titles, and the rest of the shop might inspire you to learn some French. Being able to decode the recipe for Ladurée’s macaron from their Sucre cookbook would be worth it, n’est-ce pas?
