Hot Diggity Dog: Franks ‘N’ Dawgs

Submitted by Paige McClanahan on May 13, 2010 – 2:35 pmNo Comment

Chili cheese dogNothing says summer like a big juicy hot dog. And nobody treats their dogs better than the folks over at Franks ‘N’ Dawgs, Chicago’s gourmet hot dog eatery. ‘We’re foodies first and foremost’, say the owners – and it shows. The little shop serves up its handcrafted sausages on fresh-baked artisanal bread and tops them off with specially made gourmet sauces. Check out their ‘Posh Dog’ (German-style bratwurst with Waldorf salad), the N’awlins Dog (Andouille sausage covered in fried okra and shrimp), or – if you’re feeling adventurous – the Mystery Corn Dawg (a gourmet dog dressed up with a coating of polenta). ‘Five-star dining on a bun’ – now that’s an idea we can get used to.
