Monkeying Around: Monkey Picked Tea

Submitted by on April 12, 2010 – 8:32 pmOne Comment

monkey picked teaChinese legend has it that the most delicious wild tea leaves grow on steep hillsides, inaccessible to humans. So why not train monkeys to go get the tea for you? In one remote mountain village region of China, this incredible tradition continues, where monkeys are specially trained to climb and collect the tea on the mountain face. The result? Apparently, the most gorgeous – and rare – brew you’ve ever tasted, chock full of antioxidants and soothing goodness. And don’t worry animal lovers – the fine folks at edible who produce the tea promise no monkeys were harmed in the making of your cuppa.
