Where the Recipes Come Alive: 25°C, Singapore

Submitted by Paige McClanahan on February 12, 2010 – 9:53 amNo Comment

25 degrees celsius, singaporeMaybe you have to eat it to believe it.

At least that’s the philosophy driving Singapore’s 25 Degree Celsius – a cafe-cum-bookstore that offers its customers the chance to get a taste of some of the recipes inside the books that line the store’s shelves.

Every two weeks, the shop’s 28-seat cafe features a new recipe on its menu, which chef Danny Yap whips up without straying one bit from the printed instructions. That carefully selected recipe could come from any of the nearly 4,000 books – quirky cookbooks, chef memoirs, foodie travel writing, among others – that you can browse as you wait to dine.

But beware: stop by 25°C for lunch, and you might be inspired to take home a new cookbook instead of that doggie bag.
